20, the
undefeated Umatilla Vikings who
were ranked l()th in the state,
travelled to Heppner to play the
Mustangs The rain started about one
hour before game time and rained
hard until the start o f the second
quarter The field was wet but play
ing conditions were pretty good
The Mustangs kicked off to the
Vikings and the Vikings drove the
ball near the Mustang 20-yard line
The Mustang defense dug in
Umatilla mishandled an option pitch
and the ball was recovered by

The Mustang offense then took
