The Lexington Garden Bugs will
he sponsoring a pumpkin decorating
contest for all Ixungton residents
for Halloween Pumpkins may be
decorated or carved, hut must he
taken to the V A G Tavern in Lex-
inglon by Oct 25 Pumpkins will be
displayed at the V A G until
Halloween and boxes will be
available for the public to cast votes
for their favorite jack-o-lantem un
til 4 p m on Halloween
Categories will be I 16 years and
16 years to adult First second and
third prizes will he awarded for both
categories.

The Heppner Ponies played their
fourth ami fifth games October 4 and
11 The Ponies played Pilot Rock
who did not have a team last year
The Ponies badly needed a win
after losing 12 7 to Stanfield Hepp
ner came out ready to play, going
after Pilot Kick all over the field
Heppner got to Pilot Rock early, go
ing into the locker room at halftime
with a 21-0 lead Heppner scored
one more time before putting the se
cond string in to play the rest of the
game
Heppner won the game 2 8 0
Heppner is now 2-2
The Heppner Ponies, undefeated
playing eight man football, kept it
that way by heating Echo 26-7
Heppner scored first on two long
runs, going up 12-0 Echo then
scored on a Heppner let down to
nuke the score 12 7. Heppner struck
one more time before halftime to
make the score at half 14-7 Hepp
ner scored one more time in the se
cond half and the game ended w ith
the score Heppner, 26, Echo 7
Heppner is finally on the winning
side with a record of 3-2.
Heppner’s biggest game of the
year will be Thursday Oct. 19
against Umatilla Kickoff for that
game will he at 3 p m in Umatilla
