The Riverside Pirates got off to a
quick stan in their 35-16 victory
over the Weston VIcF.vsen Tiger
Scots Friday night
The Pirates rolled up more than
300 yards of offense, with 218 yards
on the ground leading the Pirates
was Jon Horn, who rushed 19 times
for 144 yards Quarterback Jeremy
Tovey completed five passes for a
total of 100 yards
Riverside scored on their first
possession when Tovey hit Lyle
Hobbs on a third down plav for A7
yards After the Tiger Scots were
forced to punt Tovey pushed it in
from a yard out for another Pirate
score.
The Tiger Scots scored on their
first possession of khe second half
and ran the conversion to pull within
s u points. 14 8. but the Pirates took
over from there and controlled the
rest of the game
The Pirates will be playing the
Mustangs at Riverside on Thursday

the Wahtonka Fagles. and spoiled
Wahtonka'» homecoming last Thurs
day with a 15-12, 15-1 victory
The Pirates had tough play all-
around with good offensive net

team was the good effort by setters

“ Once again I felt the girls did a
good job of coming ready to play,"
said coach Donna Barton " It's
harder to play a team that sends hits
over in an inconsistent way because
you have so much court to cover."
