Country Heritage Festival is May 6-7
The 3rd annual celebration of
"O ur Country Heritage" festival
will be held May 6 and 7 from 10
a m to 3 p m at the Sherman Coun
ty Historical Museum in Mono
The Friends of the Sherman Coun
ty Historical Museum have added
some new events and exhibits to this
years Festival
One new event is the Sherman
County Centennial 8 9K Run which
wil take place Saturday. May 6 at
9:30 a m The runners will be
transported from Moro City Hall,
where registration will take place
from 8-9 a m the morning of the

Highway Division
The 48 page publication is pack
ed full of information for motorists
using Oregon's roads and highways,
according to Carol Mitchell, public
information officer for the Highway
Division
"The first atlas was really popular
both with Oregonians and visitors to
the state, so it's been reprinted."

The run will take place on a paved
course through the wheat producing
countryside cast of Moro The
course is made up of gentle slopes,
with one long uphill stretch The run
will end at the Moro City Hall near
the site of the Country Heritage
Festival Awards and prizes will he
awarded immediately after the finish
of the race
Registration fees are SI2 with a
long sleeved T-shin or 39 without T-
shirt on registrations received before
Apnl 24 l-ate registrations will be
314 with T shirt and 311 without T
shirt Shirts will be available for late
runners as long as supply lasts

lessons in her home teaching ladies
to make their own keepsakes or
heirloom to pass along to generations

ing talents at the Sherman County

The Country Craft Market also

done metal sculpture for 13 years
will have his wheat and tree
sculptures for sale Each piece is
hand made by Walt from stce. and
has a natural, plated or special blown
aluminum finish All are then
covered with u clear lacquer His
collection includes every thing from
brass finished Christmas tree or
nanients of wheat, pmecones or
pinetrccs to small and large wall
sculptures
Their will also he a variety of
returning vendors including oil. tole

variety of homecooked foods Kith
