being first delegate Virginia Peck,
second delegate Leila Palmer and

attending the Slate Assembly at
Seaside later in the year
Plans were discussed for a bus trip
to the Holegate Center in Portland
for May II It is hoped that several
ladies can he found to fill the bus for
the trip Anyone interested, either
Bunchgrass. Holly or San Souci may
contact Geri Marlin
The card party prizes for the senes
was discussed and the date changed
to Saturday May 13. The Second
Saturday for the last of the series
The committee for this party will be
Kathy Tellechca and loiella Taylor
This will be the same as all the others
and the grand prizes will be
presented
A letter inviting the lodge to
Pendleton, on Thursday, April 20at
6:30 p m at the KX)F hall for a
reception honoring Inez Wright.

Forty years ago Mabel Flint was
an extension agent here in Heppner.

"I had one of the first ciectric
refrigerators in Heppner." Flint told
the Hcppner Chamber of Commerce
luncheon Tuesday
The RFA was |ust coming into the
county she says, and there wasn't a
lot of electrical appliances around
"Sewing machine salesmen where
coming through the county selling
sewing machines lor $SM). and that
was about a months wages for me
hack then."
Presently an extension agent in
Duncan. Arizona. Flint says she
caiiR- to Hcppner in I94K. " fresh
off the farm in Iowa ."
"To tell you the way things were
in Hcppner then, our office was
located over where the bank is now .
