schools, were invited to attend a
dance clinic in l«>ne provided hy the
Hermiston Stardust state winning
dance team.
The dance team from lone, and the
cheerleaders from Riverside learn
ed a new dance, along with many
ocher new moves from Stardust
The clinic began ar IO » m Satur
day. Apnl 8. and ended at 1 p m
The girls from lone and Riverside
each performed their own routine,
while members of the Stardust dance
team critiqued the teams, giving
them ideas and suggestions to im
prove upon
To conclude the clinic, the
members of hi ah Riverside. lone and
some of Stardust dance team all per
formed the new dance they had
learned that day

audiences since 1973 with both his

The annual Morrow County
School District Spelling Contest will
be held on Wednesday, April 19,
198V, at Sam Boardman Elementary
School, at 6 30 p m The top three
spellers in each attendance area will
be competing in three divisions:
Division 1 (elementary through grade
b). Division II (grade 7 through 9);
Division III (grades 10 through 12).
The first place winners from each
division of the District Contest will
qualify to participate in the State of
Oregon Spelling Contest to he held
at the Oregon State Fair. September
2, 1989
The public is welcome to observe
the District Contest

end of competition

underway at Boardman
A Parent Task Force working
toward "Operation Graduation"
met Tuesday. Apnl 11. at I Judge Ci
ty The goal was to provide the
senior class of 1989 with a sale,
alcohol drug free celebration which
will include an all night party at the
Tn-Ctiic* Court Club on their
graduation night
Parents of Irrigon and Boardman
are joining parents all across the
United Slates who arc concerned
about the tragic number of Icvns who
never live to see the sunrise after
their Commencement "Operation
Graduation" is intended to assure a
wonderful, fun tilled event that the
seniors of 1989 will remember
forever
