Benefit Auction and White Flephanl
Sale The auction will be held in the

A good crowd was in attendance
at the Rhea Creek Extension group
meeting at the home of Judy Stevens
in Hardman on Wednesday. A
delicious turkey potluck dinner was
enjoyed after which a short meeting
was held. There was some more on
the lesson of color coordination
given by Ixila Palmer A commit­
tee w as appointed to take care of the
"Pat on the Back' award given by
each club annually to a member A

700 tickets were sold and approx­
imately $660 was raised from the
raffle, for which the fire fighters are
going to purchase Airpacks. self
contained breathing apparatus

Conference (Oregon. Washington.
Idaho and Alaska) each kept the at­
tendees full attention for two hours
The theme was "Chambers of
Change " and focused on To Dos For
A Successful Chamber; What's
Right With People’ and Coping
With Stress Resulting From Change

One speaker shared the story of a
railroad man who had worked
repairing tracks for 30 years One
day the railroad presidential car
came along and the president of the
railway stepped off to shake hands
w ith the workers He asked the track
repairman to come with him into the
car When the man returned after
sometime, he related that he and the
president had started to work
together on the tracks "Y a know,
wc talked about why I ni still here
and he's there, I went to work for
$2 50 an hour and he went to work
for the railroad / '

She was a member of the VFW
