six hours Monday night apparently
produced no results, ami teachers are
set to go on strike March I if no
agreement is reached
I he district has sent out letters to
parents, saying school will remain
open using substitutes and teachers
who do not strike
The district also said school hours
and bus schedules will remain the
same in the event of a strike, and all
support employees (secretaries,
aides, custodians etc.) will remain on
the |ob

ty School District and the teacher's
union discuss current labor pro
blcms. which have resulted in a
planned strike by teachers beginning
next Wednesday
The district ami teachers have
been negotiating for 13 months
without reaching settlement, and
Thursday's town forum was used by
each side to present its case to the
public.
Dwayne Carroll, representing the
school hoard, seemed to sum up the
