Heppner Fillies cruise over Rockets

The Heppner Fillies continued
their cruise through the Columbia
Basin Conference with a win over
the Pilot Rock Rickets 64-31. Jan

Tarru Lindsay and Jennifer Curnn
led the Fillies to a 12 8 Tint period
lead that the Rocketv could never
overcome Cumn and l.indvav each
had four pointv in the quarter
Although hindered by a number of
fuulv in the second perxxl. the Filliev
came through intact Heppner vent
the vtailing Rickets to the tout line
nine times in the period but they
never could capitalize, mi wing the
front end of the one and-one five
tunea.
The Filliev came out strong after
the half (coring 22 points in the third
penod Sandi Turner led the charge
with »even points The Rickets were
held to just 12 points and found
themaelvev trailing 47-25 with only
eight minutes left
The final quarter saw Heppner
continuing to dominate the Rickets
Pilot Rock managed to score on two
field goals and two free-throws
Nikki Bnshots scored five points in
the perutd to help extend the Fillie
lead to 33 points at the end of the
game 64-31
Lindsay led the Fillies with 14
points and 14 rebounds Cumn
scored 13 points and Turner aided
the cause with 11 points and seven
steals Rebecca Hatley led the
Rickets with 13 points.

The Heppner Mealsite served 64
people on January 4 Ida Coleman
received the free meal and Ida Lynn
the door prize
On January 11, the mealsite serv
