The J V Mustangs won their third
straight game this season Friday.
January 6. beating the Piles* Rock
Rockets 66-56 The lead changed
back and forth as the score was close
throughout the game
Neither team could generate much
offense in a low scoring first period,
as Pilot Rock led the Mustangs by
a score o f 11-7
The Mustangs used a balanced
scoring attack in the second period
as seven Heppner players scored to
close the Rocket lead to one. going
into halftime
The Mustangs kept it close in the
third quarter as the Rockets held a
slim two point margin going into the
final period
Heppner stayed tough early in the
fourth quarter and w ith three minutes
left pulled away for a 10 point
victory.
Brandon Pedro led Heppner with
19 points and si* steals while Erie
Connor grabbed eight rebounds for
the Mustangs
Coach Dowdy thought that the
team's hustle won the game, and
credited the play of Pedro and Con
nor and Casey Pedro for playing ex
ceptionally well
The J V Mustangs, now 3-0 for
the season, will travel to Boardman
to play the Riverside Pirates on
January 13

points This time the " C ” team was
scheduled to play in Ukiah while the
rest o f the teams played in Pilot

The 8th grade girls won by a score
o f 30-22 The 7th grade girls
demolished the 7th grade Pilot Rock
girls 33-9
The 8th grade girls won by a score
o f 47-12 The “ B” team boys pass

Oregon Trail" eventual influence in
Morrow County to be fudged with

essays are to he finished hy May 1
