To the Editor

cern for the health of our Morrow
County School«.
Morrow County has historically
been proud of its good schools Un
til a few years ago citizens always
supported the schools by passing
each las levy Al the present time we
.ire in the ' safety net" due to failure
of tas levies and our teachers arc
working without a contract because
ol stalled contract negotiations

in interest and support for our
schools ITicrc is no more certain
way to destroy our communities and
our future than by neglecting our
schools
It is time we all became more in
volved Our children arc the future
and the schools arc the heart of rural
communities Only interested citizen
support can bring hack a positive
"can do" attitude to management of
Morrow County Schools

separate level of govmmcnt with taxing authority to control absolutely (he

plan was to create a north-end district to support ambulance and clinic

The war was averted when the county appointed a single county wide
Medical Services Board
Now. when the County Court and the Board are having a little difficul-
tv sorting out who's boss, the idea of a medical services district arises again.
Medic al serv ice in the county is a particularly tough pn*hlem The needs
of various areas of the county arc so diverse The recognition of those
needs is j|s»> very diverse It really is hard for someone in Irrigon to vote
taxes lor ambulance and hospital services when they hasc little if any benefit
of cither
The present Medical Services Board was the best answer two years ago
and it is the best solution today The County Court just needs to step back
and let them do the job
