Forests. Wildlife and Water Ways."

of 535 and 515 respectively as well
The contest rules require either
black and white or color prints, no
larger than 8"* 10” . The phot*»
must have been taken in Morrow

Prints become the property of the
SWCD to use in decoration of the
new Agricultural Service Center

Randy's Funland coming back to fair
The Morrow County Fair Board
has again signed a contract with Ran
dy'» Funland from Clackamas to
provide rulev games and ftiod for
the August 17-21 fair and rodeo
Randy Rim. owner, has announced
he will he bringing more rides than
last year and two BIG rides, besides
the hammerhead, jumping castle and
merry-go round, plus games
Caramel and candy apples, snow
cones, popcorn, »oft drinks and ice
cream will also he available
The carnival w ill he located on the
Little League field at the
fairgrounds

Museum during fair Shuttle bus will run to fairgrounds
Shorty's Museum was first started
when Harold "Shorty” Peck began
working with the Fair Committee
This museum was a big barn on the
fairgmunds that hail been used by ihe
Wrangler's Riding Club When the
W ranglers quit using n. it then began
accumulating storage items
Jim l.auncr and Shorty Peck, with
occasional help from the fairgrounds
caretaker, cleaned out the barn and
lined it with plyhoard A new tin
roof was added and then the tun part
began as they worked to fill it
Virginia Grich. a former Fair
Board member, gave the museum
the name of ' Shorty'» Museum''
and the name has been with it ever
since
Shorty's Museum is a home to a
great many things from the by gone
years Among the h*Hisehold articles
are stoves, washing machines, cup
boards, wringers, chums, lamps and
lanterns Pherc i* horse drawn
equipment such as wagons, buggies,
com planter, feed grinder, threshing
machines and drills
In the hand tools collection are bus
and spurs and a turkey wing cradle
There are also collections of barbed
wire These are only a tew of the an

The shuttle bus will run again this
year, with the cooperation of the
Morrow County School District
which will provide the busses and
drivers
The bus will run Ironi the high
sch**ol through downtown Heppner
and to the tairgroundv fhursday and
Friday from 2 10 p m and Saturday
from n***n to 1 p m The bus will
leave the high sch*«ol on the h*nir
Also on Saturday and Sunday, the
school district is allowing the use of
the bus ham parking l*n for rodeo
com m ittee m em bers and fair
superintendents parking to help
alleviate the problem of parking
vpaces
Fair and rodeo goers may wish to
lake advantage of the free bus ser­
vice to avoid parking problems at the
fairgrounds

ty fair is log hut. king last year was
quite a success and this year is ex­
pected to be even better
Bach contestant will pay a fee of
510 Cash awards will he paid to the
first four places Contestants may
use only stock saws No modified
chainsaw is allowed This is a lim­
ed event and the timers will be pro
vided by the fair This is for
amateurs only
The lt>g bucking contest will he
held Sunday. August 21 at 10 a m
at the fairgrounds
Stihl Chainsaw Company has
donated a trophy for first place

one can find many creative entries
