The Heppner Neighborhood
Center has donated 20 bears to the
•'Foster Bear Care" program though
the Children's Services Division
Sue Warren ol CSD is very
thankful for the hears that have been
donated, however, "more foster
homes are needed" she says, "more
children in Morrow. Gilliam and
Wheeler counties are in need of
foster homes, many more than
expected ” .
These hears arc given to the
children when they arc placed in
these homes Hears may be donated
to CSD in Boardman and should be
in new or good condition Persons
interested in becoming foster homes
should contact Ms Warren at

Tom Hampson, SBDC of Pendleton, gives a session on the
seminar "It Does Make a Difference" put on by Chamber and
BMCC About 30 people participated in the seminar Tuesday
at the Elks This was a follow-up of a previous seminar held

Gearing up for Fair
schools all over the state must learn
different terminology, new plays,
and new offensive and defensive
signals They also must learn to
work with new team mates they hasc
just met to form solid football teams

IxiGrandc organized by the Union
County Shrine Club

workday this year is July 31, Sun­
day at I p m with a potluck follow­
ing at 4 p m
There arc several new classes this
year and some preparation needs to
he made to house them There is a
new division for Dairy this year
Morrow County does have dairy
stock and hopefully they will be
accommodated
The poultry and small animal bam
has received a face lift this year by
remodeling and adding some new
light panels Also the Hog Show ring
has been made larger

"J D." Lancaster is working on the portable stage to be us­
ed this year at the fair The stage will be used for entertam-
ment, the style show and wherever else it may be utilized

On August 3, the top sixty AA. A
and B football players of the class of
IVX8 will report for the thrity-smth
annual Fast West Shrine football
game The players and their families
will join the Fast West coaches, in
Portland for a luncheon with the
players of Oregon's other Shrine
game, the Shrine Bowl After the
luncheon the players and their
families will lour the Portland Shrine
ffospital This gives the teams a
chance to see what the real purpose
of the East West Shrine Game is
Wednesday afternoon the teams
will be bussed to their training camp
at Eastern Oregon State College in
LaGrandc That evening will be
spent taking physicals and having
"chalk talks" with their coaching
start
Thursday starts nine days of in
tense preparation for the big game
at Baker's tfigh School Stadium A
