Irrigon has new police officer

Irrigon haa a new police officer
Brad Winkler. 31. has been on du­
ly for four weeks and likes the work
he is doing
‘ We're involved in more criminal
inveaigaiion here." said Winkler,
"and we play a more active role in
looking for rtoien property in the

Winkler was previously a law en­
forcement officer for the Umatilla

Before that, he was a reserve, relief
officer for four yean in Sandy.

Standards and Training Certification
In I486 and has had extensive
reserve training while serving as a
reserve officer in Sandy
He will soon be working for his
Emergency Medical Technician

Winkler, together with an Oregon
State Police Trooper, taught a
Hunter Safety Course in Umatilla for
two years and a Hunter Safety

For the first time in 20 years,
members of the Good Shepard
Lutheran Church in Boardman will
have their very own church for
worship
In 1468, when the John Day Dam
was completed, many businesses and
churches moved to higher ground,
but the Lutheran Church elected not
to relocate Members of the church
either joined a new church, or drove
out of town to worship every
Sunday
In 1481, a group of Lutherans
were officially acknowledged into
the American Lutheran Church
