Faith and John Jordan stand at the back porch of their "Vic-
tonan” house in lone They are making it into a bed and
breakfast
Fsith and John Jordan purchased
their vintage 1898 Victorian Souse
in April and moved in on May I
The house is located in kmc and was
bought from Intermounuin Agency
They were told it was one of the
finest Victorian houses in northeast
Oregon Their idea is to have a bed
and breakfast
The house was built by Woolery.
a well-known Morrow County Man.
in 1898 Thus the name. Woolery
Bed and Breakfast
John is retired from the Forest
Service as a packer He was last
empkiyed at Dale Ranger Station
His job was to build dams and
bridges, do cat work and trail
m aintenance, which he did
horseback He worked for the Forest
Service off and on for 20 years, the
last 6 Vi as a permanent empkiyee
He also owned Ritter Hot Springs
for 9 years
He and his wife purchaed the Of
fice Cafe and Tavern two years ago
Faith has a beauty sh*>p in the back
and it is quite handy for people to
stop in to have a cup of coffee and
a haircut She was a beautician in
Portland for 18 years
There are si* bedrooms, three
bathrooms, a dining room, parlor,
kitchen, laundry and cellar in the
house.

paint and restored to its natural col
or Pipes and leaks have been
repaired Faith is doing the painting
and papering and John is doing most
of the repairs "It is too costly to hire
it done", he says.
The windows in the house almost
all have stained glass in them There
is a beautiful winding stairway
leading to the upstairs There are hay
windows upstairs in a bedroom and
also downstairs in the parlor ()nc of
(he "extras” in two of the upstairs
bedrooms arc small porches to sit
outside and enjoy the view A huge
porch surrounds the front and side
of the house The foundation is of
native stone and the house is heated
by a wood stove with an oil back-up.
It is a very comfortable house and
already they have had a smsiomer for
their bed and breakfast They plan
to re-do just a little at a time as time
and money allow, until it is com
plete When it is complete, they will
have a very nice home and business

Merlyn Robinson, Eva Griffith and JoAnn Hudson were visitors
at Soroptimist last week These three women were former
Heppner Rodeo Queens Robinson in 1947. Griffith was the
second queen in 1923 and Hudson was queen in 1961.
