There Is
Again
I saw it again this morning
I knew it was aiming before I actual
ly saw it.
It was time
I saw the faintest pale yellow halo far
in the distance at first Then it got more
intense the closer it came Ihe aura got
darker, nearly orange as it got closer.
I could feel the excitement build I've
iis i
seen it before of course, but each time " n
is like the first I'm literally
awe stricken
Then there it was. the first little bit
J ^ ^ tjy E d G le n n ^
pecking over a cloud, bright orange and
you could tell from that bare silver it
was huge For an instant the birds were silent, the brce/c was still, the
whole world seemed to stop to watch My very soul warmed, my heart
filled with hope and my mind reeled with the magnitude of it all
In only seconds it was fully in view, round, bright, warm The past was
gone the future was now. a new day
Desert Sunrise!
I think I see the sunset so often that I’ve become jaded But the sunrise,
particularly a sunrise in Morrow County, where you can see forever, is
a thrill to me even now that haying season is here and I sec it nearly every
morning
I made a batch of wine one time that I named Desert Sunrise It was
the right red/orange color and it tasted like I thought a sunrise would
I guess that's my nature, to look more to the new day upcoming than
to dwell on the past Wc can't do much about the past, except learn from
it and then apply that lesson to the new day The new hope, the new dream
As I sec it. without the new lime around, there wasn't much point in
the last tunc around Life is but an unending scries of opportunities to do
a little better, a little better than the next guy or a little better than I’ve
done before So long as life goes on. 1 will be looking for that opportunity
to do a little better, and will be thrilled by another Desert Sunrise
