years More recently it has been the
subject of legal dispute
In an effort to reduce the risks of
drift and possible drift problem*, a
meeting has been organized to ad
dress the issue It will be held at

an afternoon program on private ap
plicator licensing, new weeds, and
competitive grass plantings in CRP
Recertification points will be
awarded for the meeting two for the
morning session and one for the
afternoon These points apply only
for th«*se with commercial licenses,
not for private applicators The
Oregon Department of Agriculture
still has not developed a new system
for recertifying private applicators.

The drama, a one person presen
tation, tells the story of a group of

closely as possible in Jesus' steps
Charles Neighbors portrays the
Reverend Henry Maxwell, the ccn-

Mr Neighbors, who also wrote and
directed this production, has been in
volved professionally as an actor and
director in theater for over ten years
He has travelled extensively
throughout the United States.

School Budget to be voted
on M arch 22
Morrow County School District
will present a budget to voters March
22, that requires an increase in pro
perty taxes of about 1 8 percent over
the present year The total school
budget for the coming year is
S I2 .154.437. of which $7.750,330
will come from local property taxes
The election will he through mail
in ballots, and voters should begin
receiving their ballots in the mail
next week
The budget reflects increased ex
penditures on building repairs,
wanes, busses, general purchases
and contingency and reserves.
Superintendent Doyle McCaslin
said Tuesday that the reserve account
has been increased substantially to
insure the district has enough money
at the end of each year to operate
without borrowing.
McCaslin said adequate cash
reserve also will give the district a
better bond rating
The estimated tax rate for the
coming year would be $9.45 per
thousand of valuation, as compared
with a rate of $8.97 in the present
year.
