Police Commissioner (left) Bill Cooley, Police Chief Steve Mackey and officer Rob Elkin, display
their new 1983 Chevrolet police car, complete with cage and flashing lights, which they now
use to patrol the city
The City Council voted to purchase the car from the Oregon State Police Department in
Salem for $600 rather than spend $1,200 on the needed repairs to the 1978 Ford patrol car,
according to Police Commissioner Bill Cooley.
The Irrigon Department of Public Safety now has two marked patrol cars
