Check presented to Search and Rescue
Oliver Devin has presented a
check of SI.(IK) to the Morrow
County Search and Rescue Depart
ment for their assistance in helping
locate his son " M if f ’ who was lost
overnight in the mountains recently
The Searc h and Rescue group along
with many others joined together to
locate the missing boy Hie training
they have received, along with the
assistance from the Sheriff*s Depart
ment was instrumental in uic Karen
The rescue department did not meet
until Tuesday nighl. to discuss what
is to be purchased with the money.
Some of their people arc sent to
seminars on tracking, etc to bring
home information to the others in
regard lo technique, maybe some of
the funds will he used for this (liver
says "there arc too many to possibly
thank for finding Miff, one way I
thought would be beneficial to
almost everyone was this donation to
the Search and Rescue group
Hopefully, this donation will be of
future use to others.’*

Christmas concert
The Community Choir gave a
beautiful rendition of Christmas
songs on Sunday at the Mehtodist
Church Kathy Hoskins and Don
Boyce directed ihe choir featuring
several soloists The church was
crow ded to overflow ing and
everyone thoroughly enjoyed listen
ing to the choir It was very evident
that the music was appreciated They

keeps getting better all the time

The Heppner Booster Club held
their December meeting at Kates
Pizza. Monday, December 7 at 7:30
pm
First on the agenda was to donate
$300 to Heppner High School for the
purchase of an amplifier for the PA
system It will be used in the High
School Gym and wherever else it is
needed
Booster buttons are being purvhav
ed and will be given to members
when their due* arc paid Member
ship dues for the year are $3 per per
son or $5 per couple A table for
new memberships will be set up the
first home game. Friday. December
18 against Mac Hi Also,Frsday will
be the start of the half-time hoop
shoot, sponsored by the Booster
Club Tickets will be sold for 25‘

This Sunday is Crafts Day in
downtown Heppner Craftsmen
from the area will be in several of
the businesses showing tticir wares

chants being open Sundays from
