Drug ring smashed by local police officers

In the early morning hours o f
November 25 after a lengthy in ­
vestigation by law enlorcement
agency v in Umatilla County and
M ottow County. a large cocaine and
tar heroin sales ring was broken up
in the Hermiston Umatilla area A
search warrant was versed on a
residence in the Me Nary area o f the
city o f Umatilla Isahc V Nunez.

tion today.

Peterson is a third generation
farmer following his father. Oscar,

Peterson has been active in a
number o f organizations He is a
past state president and national
director for the National Farmers'
Organization. He has also been
county president and vice chairman
o f the Transportation and Federal

Wheat Growers League He has
been secretary-treasurer and vice
president o f the O W G l tbe past two
years
The Petersons are active in the
Valhy Lutheran Church which
recently celebrated its 102nd an
niversary Valby is one o f the few

Oregon and holds regular Sunday
services, sharing their pastor with

political action and the marketing op
portumtics o f the Oregon Wheat

"W e must work to return our
markets to the marketplace instead
o f government, and I'm working
toward that end during this coming
year."
Peterson said that. "Sometimes
wc dont realize the strength that we
all have by working together I think
that the Oregon Wheat Growers
Lxague can verve the purpose to help
all o f agriculture .'*
Krebs conviction reversed

wrongfully allowed to plead guilty

bank robbery. Since he was not ac­
tually in the penitentiary when he
