EIGHT - Heppner G uette-Times, He leppner, O Oregon
PUBLIC NOTICE
While purging my files. I came
across entries submitted for our
Heppner Motto Contest held last
winter Attached to one entry by
Mildred Padberg was the following
verse about a little town. I want to
share it with you.
“ Little Town'*
I like to live in a little town where
the trees meet across the street,
where you wave your hand to say
“ hello" to everyone you meet
I like to stand for a moment out
side the grocery store and listen to
the friendly gossip of the folks that
live next door.
For life is interwoven with the
friends we team to know, and we
hear their joys and sorrows as we
daily come and go.
So, I like to live in a little town.
I care no more to roam
For every house in this little town
of Hcppncr is more than a house, it's
a home
it's a wonderful poem Because
Heppner is home to so many and
they want to live out their life here,
we all must do our best to support
our community, to help it grow, and
to explore all avenues for finding a
doctor to come here on a permanent
basis. There have to be doctors in
this country who would understand
and love Heppner* way of life, who
want to make Hcppncr their home
The search is on and the committee
is hard at work
