Walla Walla Veterans Hospital
has retained all inpatient and outpa
tient medical services. Director

A local photographer s work is on
display with a traveling wheat in an
exhibit
Jean Bennett who last year won a
Soil Conservation Service award for
her photo. ‘ The Last Harvest.” has
received honorable mention in an
Oregon Wheat Growers League
wheat in an contest for the same
photo.

at the Bank of Eastern Oregon in
Heppner through this week The ex­
hibit will travel to other cities in the
state for the next few months

School offices close for Friday inservice; kids return Sept. 1
Schools and the district office will
be closed Friday, August 28 because
all school district staff members will
be at an inservicc at Heppner High
School The school board learned
Monday night that Elaine Yarbrough
a consultant with Yarbrough Assoc
of Boulder, Colorado, will conduct
the inservicc workshop She has
worked with businesses, industry,
government, and civic action groups
and is known for her expertise in
human resource development and
conflict management
