eighth annual O regon Business
Week program on the Monmouth
campus o f Western Oregon State
C o lleg e. Each w ill attend on
expense paid scholarships provided
by more than 500 businesses,
organizations and individuals.

sessions beginning August 2 and

The Willow Creek All-Stars open
ed tournament action against the All
Stars from Sisters W illow Creek
(sounded out 23 hits enroute to an
18-0 win The winners were paced
by a 5-5 hitting performance by
Ryan Adclman I Vac on Heideman
pitched 6 strong innings to get the
win lor W illow Creek, scattering 7
hits and was supported by a go»xl
defensive effort Scott Coe doubled
twice o ff the fence for the winners
Thursday. July23
The W illow Creek All Stars met
the Columbia All Stars from Board
man. Irrigon. Umatilla. Stanfield
and Fcho. and came from behind for
an 11 8 victory
W illow Creek
fought back from an 8 4) deficit,
scoring four runs in the top o f the
sixth inning for the victory
Scott Coe pitched four innings, in
a strong relief performance, for the
win and Steve Hoffman pitched the
sixth inning for the save The 17 hit
attack was led by Deacon Heideman
w ith a pair of two baggers and Coe.
Sam Sumner and Hoffman each
recorded three hits
Friday, July 24
The W illow Creek A ll Stars ran
into a buzz saw against The Dalles
and lost 24 2 The Dalles recorded
2 I hits and the locals hooted the ball
nine limes in the loss
The only offense W illow Creek
produced was a double by Rick Kot
fler and a single by Shane Munkcrs

o f the Heppner Garden Cluh, jo in ­
ed the meeting with about 2 9 district
club leaders and district chairmen in
the Oregon Trail Room o f the Indian
Hills Resort. TH e group reviewed
the district's goals and worked on
