ners o f the lone tennis Tournament
held this past weekend in coniunc
lion with that city 's Fourth of July
festiv itics
I he tournament which drew 24
entries according to tournament
chairman Clint krebs was held to
'draw a little more interest " in the
sport
Wo had some good quality ten
ms played.” Krebs added
Malt Warren and Nancy Spivey
finished second in the men's and
women's divisions respectively
Matthew Nelson and I ami Kiel
mann won the doubles title
"W e want to encourage people to
take part in the tournament.” Krebs
said “ Some people might think
they’ re not good enough to play in
the tournament and that s not the
case ”
Krebs also singled out Dana
Hcidcman and f ru Pointer as play
tng good tennis in t K men s division
and Marie Kudisill in the women's
division who lost in the quarterfinals
to her daughter, the eventual
women's winner in t K quarterfinals
“ We re hoping to draw a little
more interest for the tournament next
ye a r." Krebs added, "and we're
looking forward to having the
tournament again.”
