The county hopes to initiate
general public transportation on a
countywide basis Several local
organizations are working with the
county and the State Public Transit
Division to oxirdinafc the new
system
"W e are hxiking for more local
input to help us assess the needs and
opportunities in the county,” said
Jom Reid, field representative for the
Public Transit Division * We are in
terested in hearing from the gcrcral
public, from local transportation
providers, or from anyone interested
in managing a transportatio n
system." she said
"T he more people we hear from,
the better the final plan w ill suit the
C o u n ty," said Morrow County
Judge Louis Carlson "Currently the
system prim arily serves elderly and
handicapped individuals, but if the
demand is there, the system may
serve commuters, sightseers anyone
who needs to travel but lacks the
means to do so
Carlson added that immediate
plans are for a door-to-door survey
to determine need and potential cup
port for a transporation system and
