shift supervisor with the Princville
City Police IX*pt His wife is a
teachers aide there
His 13 years police experience in­
cludes eight years at Princville and
five years on the Madras City police
force He has an advanced certificate
from the Bureau of Police Standards
and Training including supervisory
courses He attended Central Oregon
community College and is a graduate
of the Oregon Police Academy at
Monmouth
Undcrsheriff Veri in Denton said
the sheriffs office received 45 ap­
plications for the position, and that
many of the applicants had excellent
qualifications 'Sample was head
and shoulders above the rest, so
wc'ic happy to get him He’s ex­
perienced and stable, so we didn't
have to train him; we just put him
to work.” Denton said
Sample will be assigned to day
shift and will handle civil process
and prisoner transport as well as
regular road deputy duties
