Betty Thorsen. 68. died April 25
in Palo Alto
A native of Hcppner. she grew up
surrounded by the immense Ihthcr
tv clan She was a registered nurse
in the Army during WWII where she
met and married lid Thorsen In
1946. they were discharged and
moved to San Francisco In the late
1950s she returned to the nursing
profession as a geriatric nurse at the
Veteran's Hospital in Palo Alto
After 20 years of serv ice. she retired
to Kclscyvillc. California in I9K0
She was a Charter member of the
Kclseyvtlle Lionness In her last
months, her former colleagues from
Palo Alto VA Hospital cared for her
She was a charier member of the
Board of Directors of Kelsey ville
Lions Club
She is survived by her husband.
Edgar Thorsen of Kclscyvillc; her
sister. Helen Dyer of Hcppner. her
