home near Heppner
Turner was bom July 24, 1919. at
Wapato. Wash . son of Almemn and
Pearl Basey Turner.
He married Barbara Westfall on
Apnl 22. 1939. at Payette, Idaho
The couple lived in Westfall. Ore .
following their marriage They also
lived in Ontano, Canyon City and
Condon before moving to Republic.
Wash . in 1956 Then they moved
to Keller. Wash . in 1968 and have
been residents of Heppner since
1983
Survivors include, his wife, at the
home; sons, thek of Bellingham.
Wash . Gary of Nampa. Dave of
Idaho halls Idaho, and Ron of Hepp
ncr. brothers. Ellis of John [>a> and
Basil of Heppner; sisters Nellie Sin-
tay of John Day and Edna Hinton of
Mount Vernon. 10 grandchildren
and three great grandchildren Three
brothers and two sisters died earlier
Funeral serv ices were April 21 in
the chapel at Sweeney Mortuary.

until she was graduated from high
school and returned to Topeka She
moved to Oregon in 1949
She lived in Heppner from 1957
until 1964 when she returned to
Topeka She and her husband ran a
bakery in Heppner until I960 She
worked for the Jostcn Year Book
Co since 1970 and was an mspec
tor in the Proofs Department
Mrs Herschell was a member of
Local No 49-C of the Graphic Com­
munications International Union
She married Norbert "Swede''
Herschell Sept 12, 1949. at Topeka
He survives at the home
Other survivors include a son. W
Bruce Herschell. Tecumseh. two
daughters. Verla M Herschell.
Tecumseh, and Dayle A Herschell.
Topeka, a brother, Phillip O

to groom and show a steer by using
a trained animal of their own This
was to show people taking steers
