Fillies fall behind 51-49 Ankle injury adds to Mustang problems

Hcppncr's varsity girls basketball
team fought its way hack from a
dismal first period last Friday night
hut it wasn't enough as the Pilot
Rock Rockets defeated the F illies

Fleppner fell behind 17 9 after the
first period and then got hack into the
contest as Missy Fuhanks scored all
o f her game high 2b [aunts in the last
three quarters
The F illies came w ith in 2b 2 ' at
the halftim e break and led 41 4 0
entering the fourth period
The Rockets though controlled the
fourth period 11 8 and won the
game
The game was tied at 4 9 4 9 when
Pilot Rock scored to break the tie
Fleppner had several chances to tic
in the latter stages o f the game hut
were unable to score
The Rockets tried to run the clock
out at the end o f the game but turn
ed the ball over w ith four seconds
remaining
The F illies had a chance to tie at
the end but tell short
Heppner was hampered w ith 20
turnovers in the game and it was tur
nosers on Pilot R is k 's lu ll court

first quarter lead
Rohm B aldw in, who led the
Rockets w ith 14 points, tossed in 7
in the quarter

in the quarter and 4 in the first halt

3 o f 10 in the fourth quarter and
