Following a miserable defeat the
previous night at the hands of Helix
lone * Cardinals came back to
record their first win of the season
The victory came against the Whe
eler Falcons by a narrow 42 40
margin
Ken Snider led lone in scoring,
tallying 14 points while Dustin Pad
berg came off the bench to score 10
points and grab 7 rebounds
The first quarter looked as if lone
was destined to lose their 12th game
in a row as the Falcons took a 14-2
lead lone shot a pitiful I of 12 from
the field while Wheeler was 7 of lo
In the second quarter the Cards
slowly started to climb back into the
game but still trailed by nine at the
halt That lead was erased however
as lone came out at halftime fired up
andoutacored Wheeler 154
The fourth quarter was nip and
tuck with neither team able to open
up a substantial lead Missed free
throws by lone made the game even
closer but the Cards were able to
prevail Eric Pointer hit a jumper
from the foul line with about three
minutes to go to give the Cardinals a

the last three points from the foul
line to ensure the first victory for
lone
