Letters to the Editor

14*t’a hear it for the unsung heroes
who worked In the nearby zero
temperatures to restore electricity
to us these last two bittery cold
nights It has gone out
For most of us it was just tnconve
lent, but they had to work out in the
bonec'hilling cold, not just a few
minutes, but for hours I only hope
they had a good bonfire to warm
them when the cold became too
intense For the rest of us it gave a
taste of the "good old days" of
kerosene lamps and randies, when
there were no electric blankets or
television
There was a kind of
serenity in the dim lights and quiet
of the evening, hut I suspect none of
us wanted to "enjoy" these condi
lions any longer than necessary
While I am writing. I would like to
express appreciation to the Co-op
workers for the fact that in the
twenty years we have been in
lleppner. there have been very few
interruptions of power
Me have
become so dependent on rleclncity
that we pretty much take it for
granted, and complain when it fails,
rather than being grateful it is there
most of the time To all who quietly
make it possible for us to slay
comfortable, a big Thank You
Sincerely,
(si Joyce Crasser
