Sen. Fadeley for governor
To (hr Editor
As Democrat* worked on the
anti sales tax campaign. * r were
glad to hear that Ed Kadeley ma>
run for Governor of ( irrgon Mr
Goldschmidt lent his name to the
pro sales tax campaign <7 8 percent
of the people voted No" on the sales
tax issue The Kepuhlicans have
Betty Kreauf to run for governor
She opposed the sales tax as well
Democrats should have such a
choice in the primaries
The sales tax issue showed what
the people can do It is important
that both parties. Democrat and
Republican, have the choice of
whether they want more govern
ment or not To the people who voted
on the sales tax issue believe in the
political system The political power
is yours if you are willing to give the
time and money to the candidate of
your choice Senator Kadeley is
ready to serve you He has given
much of his life to the people of
Oregon Hetty Kreauf has given
much of her time lobbying for a
freer society in Oregon
We would like to see Senator
Kjdeley in the race for governor in
the general A win win situation
would be nice for a change Right
now. the Republicans have Betty
Kreauf If Kadeley does not run. who
will offer the Democrats a choice

After a fellow has hunted the

and never had so much as a shot
at one or as Hen Patterson put

there s a lot of kick in flagging one
Add to that the leaf of shooting the

when Ben cam e upon a little two

A recent article I read said
there's no thermal reason lo put
insulation in the ceiling rather than
thewalls It this true’ If so. can you
explain why’
T l ’ Roseburg
A Cninsulated ceilings may lose
heat at a slightly faster rate than
uninsulated walls
However, the
d ifferen ce is usually m inor
Because hot air rises, many people
think that ceilings need more insula
tion than walls
But researchers
have found little temperature dif
ference at different heights in most
homes
Ceiling heat loss due to radiation
may tie somewhat greater than wall
Ileal loss due to radiation This is
because the roof radiates heat to the
cold night sky whereas the walls
radiate heat to the relatively
warmer ground buildings and other
objects
These differences in heal loss are
usually minor, so the reasons for
using higher levels of ceiling insula
lion are economic, not thermal It's
cheajier in new construction to
provide space for insulation above
the celling than in the wall
In
existing homes, it s easier and less
