The Morrow County F a ir and
Kodeo m ay be the highlight of their
year but It's not the end August 24
the court is scheduled lo ride in the
Irrig o n

parade, and lo attend a luncheon and
festival activities there
Septem ber 7 will lx- an especially
tiusy day with a ride in the
B oardm an H arvest F estival p arad e
in the m orning amt in the 1‘endleton
Hound up D ress up p a rad e that
evening Septem ber I I the Court
will rule in the W estw ard Ho p a rad e
in 1‘endleton
An overnight trail ride sponsored
by the W ranglers Hiding Club
Septem ber 21 will be their Iasi
official ride together
Then in
October, tryouts for next y ears s
court will sta rt a busy year for the
next year s royal am bassadors
The five young ladies representing
Morrow Counts as royal am hassa
dors have kept up a buss schedule
since their selection October 78 to
the P air and Rodeo Court Bridgetl
Greenup, a princess on last y e ar's
c o u rt w as n a m e d q u e en and
Robbette Angell. Stacey Kennedy.
Sheila Sieler. and Cindy Davis
becam e her four princesses For the
past several years, the court has
included only two princesses by
expanding the court, the rodeo
com m ittee hoped to bring m ore
enthusiasm to the this y e a r's annual
county event
First introduced to the county at
the N ovem ber 5 Morrow County
G rain G row ers annual m eeting, the
Court had not even had a chance to
pick out their official outfits which
were ordered from G ardners in
Heppner just before C hristm as
MCGG and Kinzua are the two
largest sponsors of the fair and
rodeo
In addition to the official

second place aw ard at the Condon
Fourth of July p arad e and rodeo
rode in the Pendleton Rendezvous
p arad e on July 6. placed first at the
Fort Dalles Day p arad e and rodeo
on July 2o amt attended the three
day Chief Joseph D ays celebration
which included two rodeos carnival
events a dance and picnic at
Wallowa l-uke

local luncheons and teas to prom ote
the fair and rodeo They m ade a trip
tolhe T n Cities to film a television
com m ercial and a re scheduled for
live radio interview s W ednesday.

Being a m em ber of th r Court,
however, is not all work A large
picnic at the hom e of Court Chape
rone Ginger <) Brien on July 14 gave
queen, princesses and flag c a rrie rs
a chance to relax with their fam ilies
and friends
A p a r a d e a n d lu n ch eo n in
H rrm islon on August 10 w ill be their
final ap p earan ce before the big show
in Morrow County
