there are precautions you can take
to prevent unauthorued use of your
credit cards
In order fo protect yourself
against any credit card theft, the
sheriff offers these tips to establish
proper card security and reduce
your potential losses
When driving around town or on a
trip, never keep credit cards or
receipts in your glove compartment

Never leave your credil cards in
your briefcase, even if if is at your
side or in your car
Always check your card when an
attrndent returns it to you It s easy
for them to grab the wrong card
when repairs are completed
Keep your cards secure by al
ways keeping them in your wallet
and never loose in a pocket or purse
Always keep your card in sight
when making a purchase
If possible, take the carbon

account number and expiration
date
Don't give your card number over
the phone to solicitors or callers
claiming to be taking surveys or
needing your card number to verify
your identity as a prize winner
If your card is missing, rrport the
loss to your local law enforcement
