These classes are open to all 4 H members and are especially appropriate for those projects
which have no project exhibits and for locally developed projects Individual displavs are
limited in sue to 30” in width, 24” deep front to back', and 30 high The exhibit may
include pictures, models, diagrams, and actual articles

three dimensional display . or a notebook It should he substantial Displays must show and
explain something the 4 II members have made done, or learned such as how and why
wool shrinks, why bread rises, safe use of tools, how bees communicate, or how waves are
formed Club displays must have names and addresses of all members and leaders in the
club
DIVISON 10 — 444 ACTION AREA
Any 4 II member or club may select a time to tell a story , sing a song show slides present
a demonstration, tell about their club activities, etc
To participate in action area, member of club should pro register indicating tune and dale
they wish to present their activity
These events will not lie judged, but will be considered commumlv service activities and
will receive recognition certificates

Open lo all 4 II members 4-H members must allow their animals to be used in the
contest if asked by county extension agent F F A advisor, or superintendent Teams to hr
made up of anv 3 members from the same club
CLASS I L A R G E A N IM ALS
Each contestant shall judge at least two classes each of the following beef, sheep and
swine, and submit written reasons Reasons class to be designated bv the official Judge
CLASS 2 SMALL ANIMALS
Each contestant shall judge at least one fryer class, one part of animal identification, one
breed identification, one pelt class, and submit oral and written reasons Reasons class to be
designated by the official judge
DIVISIONI 2 — 444 PIG SCRAMBLE
RULES
Special application form required Extra forms available at Extension Office
T o be eligible, participants must be currently enrolled in 4 M or agree to enroll in the
coming year
those who have completed the third grade may apply - complete the special
application form, be willing to abide by the rules of this contest and have not previously
caught a pig
- Successful participants will capture a gUt that May subsequently own They agree to
raise the gill as a 4 II project and to provide a gilt for the succeeding vear's fair that weighs
at 60 pounds

444 MARKET LAMB FITTING CONTEST

RULES
— This is a team contest open to all enrolled 4 11 members
— Pre registration is required All teams must be formed and notify the extension office
of their intention to compete by Friday. June S, 19*5
Each team will consist of three members It must include at least one junior and one
intermediate 4 H member There can he no more than one senior per team This is not a club
contest and members are encouraged to form teams that include members from more than
one club It is not restricted to livestock members
Participants will be allowed two and one half hours to wash and fit a market lamb
They will be observed by the judge for the entire time and the Judge may ask questions
concerning the fitting process at any lime Contestants will also be judged on the finished
product
