Legislature off to good start
To the editor
The l»85 Oregon legislature is off
to a good start in dealing with the
major issues confronting us
pro
perty tax relief, the funding and
quality of public education, health
care cost containment, and water
policy reform Many other issues of
importance to you issues that might
not make the nightly news w ill
come tiefore the legislature this
session, and I'll be working hard to
see that these issues receive the
legislative scrutiny they deserve
I'm encouraged by the high level
of dedication and intelligence that
ha* assembled for this 1*86 session
I know that public decision making
often seems slow or confusing, and
I'm sometimes frustrated at the
process myself But in a democracy
like our*, every opinion has a right
