from national convention
By N O FII.A K il l.
Four m embers of the Heppner
chapter Future F arm er's of Amrr
lea recently attend«) the annual
national F F A convention in Kan
sai City, Missouri. November 7 10
Thoae attending were Kim Wright.
Susie Martin. Steve Currin and Jim
Caaon
The Chapter reporter asked each
member attending what he conn
dered the most enjoyable part of the
trip, how the national FFA conven
tion com pared to other high school
functions, if they would recommend
the Convention to other members
planning to go and what they would
tell others about attending the con
vent ion
Kim Wright stated. The most
enjoyable part of the trip was
meeting new people and making new
friends The convention made all of
us frel positive about each other I
would recommend others go and
get involved in all of the things they
have to offer
Susie Martin said. The most
enjoyable part was meeting kids
from other parts of the country and
going places with them workshops,
shopping and nut to eat " In
comparing the convention to other
high school functions, she pointed
out that compared to the 170 kids in
Home built to accommodate larjre family
our high school "it was huge 23.otx>
kids Everyone was friendly and
supportive of what the others want
to <ii " She also recommended that
others attend the convention
If
you have positive obtainable goais
within the FFA go for it It will help
you be positive and enthusiastic
towards your goals If your goals in
the FFA are not positive a state
convention would be better so rnu
can find out what there is to do and
how to do it
Steve Currin said It is a very
good convention to attend You meet
a lot of people, and have the
opportunity to attend many different
activities You become more invol
ved with FFA by attending a nation
al convention I would definitely
recommend everyone goon this trip
It is a great learning experience
Jim Cason rated meeting FFA
members from other states as the
most enjoyable port of the trip along
with getting to see a city bigger than
Portland Jim staled The National
Convention is much larger than any
high school function in the slate of
Oregon and I don t think you can
compare them I would recommend
others going You meet a lot of
people and there are lots of things to
do tours, workshops shopping hut
most of all having fun
