Letters to the Editor
To secure individual liberty
To the editor
Our country was founded as a
constitutional representative re
public with government's only
functions tiring the securing of our
unalienable rights and sec uring the
highest level of individual liberty
Our country today has turned
into the pure democracy that s had
such a bad history uf failure John
S Stambaugh wrote an excellent
illustration of How Democracies
Die":
"The historical cycle of the body
politic indicates that man prog
resses from bondage to spiritual
faith, from spiritual faith to cour
age, from courage to freedom,
from freedom to abundance then
comes the warning from ahundan
ce to selfishness, from selfishness
to apathy, from apathy to depen
dency and from dependency right
back into bondage ugain
When I look at Mr Stam baugh*
illustration, we appear to be at the
apathy and dependency stages
We do not have ton long before we
place ourselves in bondage once
•‘gain
People need to realize that w hen
they ask government to solve their
problems or ask government to
steal from their neighbor c taxes )
to fund projects in their own
interest or to put future genera
lions in debt, that this voting of
money out of the treasury is the
beginning of the end of our once
great country
The only hope for our country is
for us to return to a sound mone
tary system igold and silver i and
to vote for people who know how
vital Individual Liberty is to the
progress of humankind
The Libertarian Party is the only
political party that puts individual
liberty ahead of all else
For
without individual liberty human
kind is doomed to fail once again
Yours in Liberty
