Every participant in the new
CiiwHeile v Beef Brown Bag Contest
knew exactly what he she was going
to do when the contest started
Each got right down to the busi
ness of creating a nutritious beef
sandwich and decorating a paper
bag to promote beef
At the end of the half hour allowed.
Molly Evans. Irrigon. youngest of
the group was proclaimed first place
winner and awarded a prize of $12
1 ash Molly 's creation was prepared
on a bagel and included many other
nutritious additions She lopped it
off with a garnish of radish and
parsly Her decorated bag featured
a cartoon cow. plus a brass bell and
bandana handkerchief tie She knew
why you should eat beef, too
Second place winner was Benji
Pearson. Heppner. with a brown bag
proclaiming "Beautiful Beef Can't
He Beat", and a very nutritious
combination of products dressing up
her basic beef sandwich
Taking third honors. Kathleen
Brazed. Lexington, chose to build
her decorations on "Beef Builds a
Better Body" with before and after
drawings and slogan
The contest, new this year, was
developed by local CowBelles to
promote the use of beef, as well as
provide added educational events
