Umatilla Co. fair begins Aug. 4
A cordial invitation is issued lor
all residents o i Umatilla and adjac
ent counties to join the nine tun tilled
days al the I'm a tilla County Fair in
Hermiston Oregon beginning with
the 4-H Horse Show on August 4 at §
a m and ending with the Mule a
Kama on August 12
Between those two dates are pack
ed in as many entertainers, horse
events, exhibits, contests and fun
times as the Fairgrounds and the
hours ol the day can accomodate

Davis, w ill be performed on Mon
day. August 6 in the Hermiston High
School Stadium at I p m Tickets for
this show are on sale now at the Fair
Office and w ill be on sale at the gate
also On Tuesday and Wednesday
nights wrestling w ill be scheduled at
the High School Stadium
These
tickets are also on sale now al the
Fair Office
Fair goers w ill be able to view the
usual exhibits and contests and the
Davis Amusement Carnival w ill be
operating from Monday evening
through Saturday night Kach day
of Fair w ill be an Arm Band Day
except Thursday, which is Family
Day when all rides w ill be reduced
Kegular food concession stands w ill
all be operating

people serve as faculty and advisors

Participants apply from public
and private high schools throughout
the state Teachers also have the
opportunity to receive college credit

State Ikepartment of Education.

the senior citizen bus al Irrigon and
Boardmuii for a Saturday. July 28.

County Historical Society had arran
ged this tour with Kuth McCabe,

As they traveled southward they
were met by Dode Krebs at Cecil
who told them about that Oregon
Trail Community, they viewed his
toric W ells Springs and the Ella area
before continuing into lone where
they were driven around the town,
but did not stop as they were running
late because of their delaying bus
trouble A late luncheon stop was
enjoyed at Valby Lutheran Church
before they traveled on to Heppner
where after viewing the dam and
reservoir, they went through the
courthouse and visited the county
museum and the 1978 C S Hicenten
nial project, the one room pioneer
