George is the son of Hugh C. and Katie Currin, born in Heppner, Oregon in 1911.
George and his three brothers, Hugh, Bob, and Ralph were raised on East Birch
Creek near Pilot Rock, Oregon. He attended grade school and high school in Pilot
Rock. ,
George was in the sheep business with his father Hugh C. Currin in the Pilot Rock
area. In 1934, he moved to Little Buttercreek and ran sheep until 1940. He then
changed his livestock to cattle.
George married Helen Knotts of Pilot Rock In 1935. They have two sons, Ron and
Tom, who now operate the cattle business on Little Buttercreek.
George is now retired and spends much of hit leisure time attending his grandson's
high school and college rodeos. Quite often he can be seen visiting the livestock sales
and friends and neighbors.
