For those who like to exer
cise, the Cystic Fibrosis Foun
dation is providing a speciul
way to get the curdiovascular
system going and help child
ren with cystic fibrosis at the
same time. This new project is
called "Aerob-a-thon for CF,"
Joyce Hughes will be coor
inating an Aerob-a-thon in
Heppner on Monduy, April 23
at 6:00 p.m. It will be held in
the Heppner Grade School
multi purpose room.
, Interested participants can
pick up their sponsor forms by
calling Joyce Hughes at 9B9
8412. Participants will then
need to sign up sponsors who
are willing to pledge so much
(i.e. 10 cents) for each minute
of continuous exercise,
i Cystic Fibrosis is an inher
ited disease that attacks the
lungs and digestive system. It
is estimated that one of every
20 Americans is a symptom
less carrier of the gene which
can cause CF in their child.
Through research funded by
the Foundation, a test to Iden
tify carriers is being sought
and scientists are pursuing a
cure or control for CF. Public
contributions for research and
patient care have extended
the life expectancy from age
six 13 years ago to age 21
today.

the Aerob-a-thon based on the
amount of pledges raised and
