Local auto dealers plan social hours
The public is invited to
attend a social hour this
Saturday, St. Patrick's Day,
at Ron McDonald Chev. and
Farley Motor Co. showrooms.
The social hour will last
from 3 to 5 p.m.
We'll have chairs set up and
our restrooms will be open all
day to the public," says Ron
McDonald. "Our showrooms
will be open all day for a place
people can stop and rest and
visit."

Everyone
loves a
parade
A new addition to Heppner's
St. Patrick's Day Celebration
is a Main St. Parade. Many
enteries have come in for the
parade, which will begin at
1:30 p.m. at the Heppner
Public Library and will end at
the Morrow County Court
house. The entries will be
judged at the Heppner City
Park between 12:30 and 1 p.m.
Pete Lennon, who came to
Heppner from Ireland in 1931,
will be the parade's grand
marshal. (See related story).
The Heppner American Le
gion Post No. 87 will present
the colors, the lone School
Band, the Weston-McEwen
Bag Pipe Band and the Baker
Drum and Bugie Corps will
perform. The Morrow County
Fair and Rodeo Court will ride
in the parade, an L-ish Washer
Woman float and a sheep
herder's camp wagon will be
displayed, the Pendleton Main
St. Cowboys will have their
calliope and the Pendleton
Round-Up Directors have an
entry planned. Also, a wagon
pulled by a team of Percheron
horses will take part, the
Hermiston Shriners will be
here, as well as a live lepre
chaun and the local Cub
Scouts.
Prizes will be awarded in
each category.
