Some of the two mil
lion Americans who must
have daily Injections to
control their diabetes can
fei l more like winner thanks
to some recent scientific
achievements.
Fur years, scUmtiats have
aouKht to win way to
monitor sugar level quick
ly, accurately and inexpen
sively. Blood sugar levela
vary widely, depending on
the amount of exercise a
person takes, how much and
what 1 eaten and how the.
insulin is administered and
distributed in the body. The
laat few yeara hive seen a
revolution in the control of
diabetes with the advent
of chemically treated strip
that measure blood sugar
levela after being covered
with drop of blood and
read in a machine.
Scientists have now sim
plified the process so the di
abetic, working with his
doctor, can now perform
the test and read the infor
mation without a machine.
The test is made simple with
the Chemstrip bO, devel
oped and produced by Bio
Dynamics , Boehringer
Mannheim company. The
atrip can help doctors help
their diabetic patients win
a more normal life.
