A committee met at the
home of Barbara Cutsforth on
Monday morning to plan a
luncheon and card party to be
held at the Lexington Grange
Hall on Sunday. February 12.
This will be the first of the
money making projects for
the year. A ham luncheon Is
planned from I to 3 p.m. with a
card party starting at 3 p.m.
There will be prizes and door
prizes given. The cost will be
$4 so for dinner and $1.50 for
cards. Those present for the
morning were: Geri Martin.

bara Cutsforth. chairman.

Mr. und Mrs. Iuul Warren
Paul and Claudine Warren display certificate of
achievement for Paul's 31 years with the Morrow County
School District. He retired as head custodian for Heppner
High and Elementary school.
Approximately 50 people attended a potluck retirement
dinner held in his honor at the Heppner High School
cafetorium Wednesday, Jan. 11.
In addition to the certificate, Paul received a gold watch
for his years of service to the school district.

a desire to tell others about

gram, according to Birdine

tion with Coats and Clark,
have just been received in the
county Extension office. Tullis
said
Entries, which are due in
the county office May 11. may
reflect one of twn snnppstpd
themes: "4-H - learning for
Life" and "411 - Picture the
Possibilities." A third cate
gory, called the "open
theme." allows 4 H'ers to
create a poster illustrating
their own ideas.
Each 4 If member may
enter one 14 by 22 inch poster.
The poster must not be three
dimensional, but may be
created in any medium, such
as watercolor, ink. crayon, oil
or collage.-
Top entries from Morrow
County will be displayed in the
state 4-H poster contest during
the 19R4 4H Summer Week
program at Oregon Slate
University June 11-16. At that
time, three entries from the
Oregon program will be se
lected for display during the
National 4 1! Congress in Chi
cago next fall.
The 4-H poster program is
seen as an opportunity for 4-H
members to express their
ideas about what 4-H is to
them. In addition, entries in
the national program are used
to suggpst Ideas for national
themes for the youth educa
tional program, Tullis explained.
