Case
ELGIN - Verna Lucille Case
of Elgin, formerly of Heppner,
died Friday. Oct. 7, 1983. at
Grande Ronde Hospital in La
Grar.de. She was 72.
She was born November 2,
1910. at Big Horn. Wyo., to
David and Jennie Crawford
Townsend. She married Lu
cien Homes Case on Februa
ry. 13. 1930, in La Grande.
Mrs. Case was a member of
the United Methodist Church
of Elgin and the Rockwell
Grange.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, a brother, a
sister and her husband.
Funeral services were held
Monday. Oct. 10. at the United
Mehtodist Church of Elgin
with Bill Miller officiating.

Cemetery.

pner Neighborhood Center for
those who haven't yet re
ceived it on or since October 11
for just one more week. Octo
ber 25 will be the last day the
cheese from the latest ship
ment will be given out. Those
who haven't picked up cheese
are asked to please do so
before October 25.
The federal guidelines to
qualify for the free cheese
are: one family member - a
monthly income of $506 or
less: two family members - a
monthly income of $681; three
family members - a monthly
income of $856: a family of
four - a monthly income of
$1,031: and for a family of five
- a monthly income of $1,206.
For each additional family
member. $175 may be added to
the monthly income to deter
mine the qualifying amount.

December 3. The ladies who

and craft times at the center
