Many people in our com

ful to have a new doctor in the
clinic at Heppner. Your edito
rial stating that the eounty
urgently needs his services
rather than additional rent
money was certainly perti
nent. Additionally, I would like to
add that I do not like the lack
of appreciation of .."services
rendered that this hard line
emphasizes with both the past

superintendent job in Morrow
County needs experience in

people and curriculum. Surciy

people available.

Heppner handled the following
calls . cases and reports during
the past week:
On August 15. the Boardman
Police Depart meat took a re
port of a two-vehicle non
injury accident.
On August 16. a Boardman
ambulance responded to a
Boardman residence at 12:25
a m. for a possible heart at
tack victim. The patient was
taken to Good Shepherd Hos
pital jn Hermisotn.
Also on August 16, a Board
man ambulance responded to
a Boardman residence for
another possible heart attack
victim at 7 p.m. The patient
was transported to Good
Shepherd Hospital.
In a third August 16 incident,
Marvin L. Higgins of Hennis
ton reported to the sheriff's
department that a C.B. radio
and radar detector were
stolen from his truck while it
was parked at U & I, Inc. in
Boardman on August 15. The
items were valued at $599.
On August 17, Karol William
Pope. 57, of Boardman, was
arrested by Boardman Police
for alleged Menacing. Pope
was lodged at the Umatilla
City Jail.
On August 18, Merlyn Eu
gene Stone, 46, of Hardmaa,,
was arrested by a Morrow '.
County sheriff's deputy on '
charges of alleged Disorderly
Conduct, Reckless Driving,
Assaulting an Officer, Third
Degree Criminal Mischief and
Third Degree Escape. He waa
lodged at the Umatilla City
Jail. .
Also on August 18, the
Boardman Fire Department
responded to a call near S.K..
