Curnutt Pourier
Brenda Pourier and Keith Lloyd Curnutt, both of Irrigon,
announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
She is the daughter" of Mr. and Mrs" Ben Pourier of
Pendleton and he is the son of Betty Curnutt of Heppner and
Harold Curnutt of Pendleton.
A September 3 wedding date has been set.

Tykward

services will be
held Friday, July 29, at Hep
pner Masonic Cemetery for
Wallace C. Tykward, 70, of
Whitehall. Montana. Mr.
Tykward died Monday, July
25, 1983, at Missoula, Mon
tana. '
He was born August 20, 1912
in McCook, Nebraska, the son
of Frank and Nora Tykward.
The family moved to Montana
in 1916, where he attended
school in Whitefish.
He moved to Alaska in 1937
to work as an electrician, and
was married to Nora Putnam
in 1960. In 1962, they came to
Oregon. Mrs. Tykward died in
Heppner in 1966.
Mr. Tykward retired in 1970
and had been a resident of
Whitehall since then.
Survivors include a brother,
Fred Tykward. of Whitehall;
and two sisters, Vena Ann
strong and Dorothea Gunder
son. both of Missoula.
Sweeney Mortuary, Hep
pner, is in charge of local
arrangements.
Memorial
service set
A memorial service has
been set for Friday, July 29 for
former lone resident Frank
Lundell of Milwaukie, who
died July 24. 1983. The sen-ice
will be held at the lone United
Church of Christ at 2 p.m.
A complete obituary will be
published at a later date.

Mr. and Mrs.' Brian Rietmann
Sharon Lynn Crowell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Crowell of lone, became the bride of Brian Paul Rietmann,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rietmann, also of lone, in a 4 p.m.
ceremony on Tuesday, June 21.
The Rev. Brian McGovern of St. Williams' Catholic
Church, lone, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. He was
assisted by Monsignor Raymond Beard of Wasco, and the
Rev. Cathy Barker, pastor, lone United Church of Christ.
Esther Reed daisies, arranged by the groom's grand
mother. Vera Rietmann of lone, decorated the church.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of
slipper satin, trimmed in lace. The princess-style dress, with
a chapel train was made by her sister, Karen Kandle. The
bride's ensemble was completed with a picture hat trimmed
in matching lace.
For "something blue," she wore a blue garter, and for
"something old," she wore a penny of the year of her birth in
her shoe. She carried a nosegay of Shasta daisies, carnations,
white rosebuds, and blue forget-me-nots.
Darla Anglin, Pendleton, was maid of honor, and
bridesmaids were Karen Kandle, sister of the bride, Sylvia
Ladd of lone and Heather Kandle, niece of the bride. They
wore blue and white print floor length gowns and carried a
single daisy with cascading ribbons. In their hair they wore a
daisy ring.
Rick Gilbert of Arlington was best man. Groomsmen were
Mark Rietmann and Gregg Rietmann of lone, brothers of the
bridegroom, and Gene Crowell, lone, brother of the bride.
The men were dressed in matching pale blue tuxedos.
Soloist was the Rev. Cathy Barker and organist was Rikka
Tews, both of lone.
Honored guests were Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Steagaii of
Lexington, grandparents of the bride, Margaret Hurst of
Arlington and Vera Rietmann, lone, grandmothers of the
groom.
The outdoor wedding reception and buffet were held at the
bride's parents' home following the ceremony. A lattice
work, entwined with daisies and ivy, was decorated by Tami
Rietmann, sister-in-law of the groom, and used as a setting
for the cake table. Deanna Brandhagen of Pendleton, aunt of
the bride, and Shirley Anderson of Arlington, aunt of the
groom, served the cake. Pouring were Betty Rietmann of
lone. Ruby Ann Rohde, Kennewick, Wash , aunts of the
groom, and Barbara Leyva, Wilbur, Wash., aunt of the bride.
Wheat bags and scrolls were passed out by Michelle and
Heather Kandle, nieces of the bride; Michelle was also in
charge of the guest book.
The couple left for a wedding trip to San Francisco, Calif.
As a gong-away outfit, the bride wore a blue and white
flowered sundress with a whtie jacket.
Sharon is a 1983 graduate of lone High School.
Brian is a 1978 graduate of lone High School and a 1980
graduate of Blue Mountain Community College. He if a
military policeman in the United Statea Army, stationed at
Fort Ord Hunter Liggett.
They are currently living in Bradley, Calif, and In
September, will be leaving for Germany for a three year tour
of duty.
