Road Report
The Morrow County Public
Works Department has re
leased the following Road
Report :
The resurfacing project on
Paul Brown, Meadowbrook.
Social Ridge. Fuller Canyon
and Clarks Canyon roads has
been completed with good re
sults. The crew has moved
on to the Halvorsen. M. Baker
area roads on the same type of
project. The blades and rollers
have prepared the roads for
cold mix and oil. Trucks are
hauling gravel for the chip
spreader and cold mix for the
Waders.
Other roads that were bla
ded are: Emma White. Dick
Smith-McNabb West, Spring
Hollow, Archie Ball, Balm
Fork-Road Canyon and
Hardman Ridge.
Pointer. Hardman Ridge,
Ella. Baseline to Lindsay,
Cecil, Morgan East, north end
of Gooseberry and lone
Gooseberry Roads have re
ceived cold patching.
Fill material from ditches
has been redistributed in road
building, and shoulders are
still being widened on the Pine
City to Little Butter Creek
Road. Also, new culverts were
installed.
General road maintenance,
roadside brush cutting and
cold patching have been done
in the Irrigon-Boardman area.
A daughter. Karlina Dawn,
was born July 7 to Debbie and
Don Christensen of Heppner.
She weighed 5 lbs.. 5 oz.

The Morrow County Sher
iff's Department handled the
following calls, cases and re
ports during the past week:
On July 5. a Boardman
ambulance responded to a
report of an injured male at U
L& I. Inc., Boardman. The
patient was transported to
Consolidated Good Shepherd
Hospital in Hermiston.
On July 7, a Boardman
ambulance responded to a
residence on Olson Road for
an injured female. She was
transported to Consolidated
Good Shepherd Hospital,
On July 9. the sheriff's office
took a report of a 150 to 200 ton
havstack burning at S & K
Farms. Boardman. The hay
stack was lost as it was not
located in any fire district.
Also on July 9, the sheriff's
office took a report of a
one-vehicle accident at High
way 74 and Rhea Creek Junc
tion. The driver of the vehicle
was taken to Pioneer Memor
ial Hospital in Heppner where
he was treated and released.
On July 10. James O'Brien
Campbell. 61. of Condon, was
arrested by a sheriff's deputy
for allegedly Driving Under
the Influence of Intoxicants.
He was released on his own
recognizance.
Siminoe to teach
A Dance to Fitness class will
begin July 25 from 7:30 to 8.30
a m at the Heppner Elks
Lodge under the direction of
Rene Siminoe. The class is
sponsored by blue Mountain
Community College and will
be held each Monday, Wed
nesday and Friday, according
to Nancy Brownfield. BMCC's

3 cups cooked beef, cut in thin stripe

1 large green pepper, cut in strips
1 cup sliced celery
2 cups fresh bean sprouts
3 sliced green onions with tops
In bawl combine beef strip, tomato wedges, green pepper, celery,
bean sprouts and green onion. In screw-top bottle combine vinegar,
oil, soy sauce and ginger; shake well. Pour over beef mixture; toss to
