A lovely bridal shower was
held at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Yocom honoring Lori
Edwards, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John Edwards. Lori is
the bride-elect of Kevin
McCabe. There were about 18
guests present. A lovely cake,
decorated in the colors of the
bride's wedding was served
with coffee and punch. Hos
tesses for the affair were
Hilda Yocom and her daugh
ter Marie and Shirley McCarl.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Martin
and family have moved from
the Lee Padberg house in
Lexington to Heppner.
Glover Peck, who under
went major surgery at Con
solidated Good Shepherd Hos
pital in Hermiston. returned to
his home in Lexington on
Monday.
Venice Hendrickson and
grandchildren Kevin and
Karen Ouch were weekend
visitors in Lexington. Mrs.
Hendrickson now makes her
home in Pendleton.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baca of La
Grande motored to Lexington

spending the week here.
Holly Rebekah Lodge held
their regular meeting at the
hall on Thursday evening with
Noble Grand Ruth Robinson
presiding. Plans were com
pleted for the president's visit,
and lovely refreshments were
enjoyed. The next meeting
will be a potluck supper for the
Rebekahs and their husbands.
The Garden Bugs Garden
Club met at the home of Kathy
Tellechea on Thursday for a
regular meeting. A program,
"Care of the Lawn," given by
Lois Allen, was enjoyed, and
she demonstrated how to re
model a lawn sprinkler to
make it easier to move.
The name chosen for the
club was submitted by Penny
Huffman, who received a
prize.
The door prize for the day
was won by Marie Steagall.
The next meeting will be at
Lois Allen's home and w ill be
about the care of spring flow
ering bulbs after blooming.
Members are asked to bring a
package of their favorite flow

returns home
Debora Palmer has re
turned to her parents' home in
lone after being hospitalized
for several weeks. The daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee
Palmer, Debora was breaking
a colt while visiting in Madras
when the colt rolled with her.
She received three broken
vertebrae in the lumbar re
gion and was taken to a
hospital in Madras. She was
then transferred to St. Vincent
Hospital In Portland.
She is to return to Portland
in two weeks for a checkup
and possibly surgery.
Miss Palmer was queen of
the 1979 Morrow County Fair
and Rodeo.
